Pressure welding process

In wire harnesses and cables, pressure welding is a process for electrically connecting wires and terminals by applying physical pressure to an uncoated wire and a special connector for pressure welding. This processing method is mainly used for flat cables, but sometimes multiple wires are fused together for IDC processing.

There are three main wire processing methods for wiring harnesses.

  • Pressuring
  • Crimping
  • Soldering
According to the drawing of the wiring harness, the wires and connector terminals are joined using the three processing methods.
