Overview

Connectors supply power and signals. Connectors are required not only to connect but also to provide reliable connections in any environment.
Electrical testing of connectors can be realized with the application of NAC Corporation's cable harness testers and connectors tester.
Connectors are manufactured according to various standards.
It must be ensured that there are no electrical errors that may occur during the manufacturing process.

2. Testing connector mating force by momentary disconnection testers

The mating force of connectors is verified by applying actual shock or vibration to determine whether or not a momentary disconnection occurs.

In automobiles, airplanes, medical equipment, and telecommunications equipment, malfunctions can directly affect human lives.

Momentary disconnection testing is highly important and is conducted during design/development for analysis and research and in mass production processes.

The standard for momentary disconnection testing, which is
Automotive standard JASO D616 5.13
JIS C 5402-2-5:2005 (IEC 60512-2-5:2003).

We can realize testing equipment that corresponds to these standards.

3. Connector Testing

Connector testing is divided into evaluation and mass production.
In evaluation, testers dedicated to momentary disconnection are used, and tests are conducted over a long period of time, from a few hours to several dozen days.

The test object is set on a vibrator and subjected to a specified vibration, and its continuity is constantly monitored.

The time (width) and number of momentary disconnections are recorded and evaluated.

Fuse boxes and junction boxes are also tested for momentary disconnection in the same way.

In mass production, wiring, withstand voltage, and insulation testing are conducted.

In addition to testing for continuity, high voltage is applied to ensure that there is no discharge phenomenon due to burrs generated in the manufacturing process and that the insulation is sufficient.

In some cases, a short bar is used for testing.

We can also test connectors continuously using an automatic machine with probe fixtures.

We also have experience in proposing specialized testing equipment for connectors, such as for completing tests in a short period of time.

Please contact NAC Corporation for electrical testing of connectors.

[127
